Job Details: POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)/Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is an allied health professional with special and specific education and training, who manages the respiratory care of patients under the order of the attending physician. Performs, documents and reports results of treatments and tests in an accurate, complete and timely manner. They assume responsibility for the quality of care and accuracy of CP observations and test results. The RRT or CRT also performs the Outpatient diagnostic testing affiliated with the Cardiopulmonary Department at TCGH. The Cardiopulmonary Dept staff work collaboratively with the entire healthcare team to ensure a seamless and cohesive approach to care. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 1. Graduate of an AMA (NBRC) accredited Respiratory Care Program. 2. RRT or CRT credential current through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), and in good standing. (Certificate of completion/RRT/CRT credential must be provided.) 3. Licensed as RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) in Oregon 4. Acute care experience for at least one year, or comparable experience 5. Must maintain current BCLS certification 6. Successfully complete ACLS within one year of hire 7. Successfully complete NRP within one year of hire 8. Be able to perform cardiology diagnostic testing such as Stress Tests, Pulmonary Function Tests, EEGs, and other offered Cardiopulmonary diagnostics within one year of hire. (Will train onsite) 9. Assist in staff training, monitoring and supervision 10. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, professionalism and a strong wok ethic, with a desire to provide outstanding team-oriented patient care. 11. Be willing and able to learn Computer documentation and programs needed for department. 12. Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills; be able to read, write and speak the English language with enough skill to clearly and readily understand verbal and written communications and to be easily understood by others. 13. Demonstrate excellent clinical and equipment skills related to all aspects of respiratory care 14. Demonstrate excellent documentation skills 15. Be able to provide services to all age groups 16. Be willing to participate in ongoing education; onsite and offsite 17. Complete competencies in a timely manner
