POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, plans, installs, and sets up new database systems. Provides technical support for database, operating systems, and software applications. Supplies input on new physical database design schemes and plans capacity and growth for new and ongoing systems. Operates as the focal point for resolving database problems and installs new production databases. Plans, writes, implements, and monitors integration tools that allow for efficient data flow between various vendor's databases. Facilitates appropriate 'front-end' decision support tools, allowing end-users to analyze database information. Writes ad-hoc reports as needed. Manages and implements requests for I.S. systems changes. Various programmer tools will be used as needed, including; Scripting Languages, Visual Basic, SQL report writers, etc. This position requires close, proactive interaction with the users and Information Systems team members.
