Job Description: This pathfinding research team is looking for a SW engineer to design and write code to test a new system architecture that targets high performance computing via parallel HW and SW techniques. These systems must also run with significantly lower power compared to existing microprocessor-based systems. The candidate will work with the silicon design team to ensure the microprocessors, memory subsystems and associated system resources can be efficiently used by evolving OS kernels and runtimes and will be expected to meet our performance/watt goals. Additional tasks can range from understanding application algorithms threw novel methods to assess system features via SW tools to OS kernels and boot sequences.
Qualifications:
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
Minimum Requirements:
Master of Science degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and a record of research accomplishments. A PhD in a field of research described above is preferred. 2 or more years of industry experience is expected.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
- Familiarity with parallel computer architecture runtimes targeting parallel systems
- Experience with microprocessor design, Fabrication and packaging techniques.
- Experience in System boot sequences and debugging
- Experience with application porting, and algorithm design is a plus
