          Job Description: The Wireless Communications Lab (WCL) in Intel Labs is looking to hire a researcher to join our research team responsible for 3GPP Release 12 & beyond standards development and mobile client differentiation research. A big part of standards development involves evaluating the performance of the legacy system, identifying problems, innovating new techniques and solutions, and analyzing them using MATLAB/OPNET/etc. simulation tools. The candidate is expected to (a) perform independent research on next generation wireless systems, (b) develop system level simulator with MATLAB/OPNET and evaluate the performance in today's 3GPP LTE network with various channel conditions, (c) invent and implement new algorithms and techniques to improve capacity, quality of user experience and power efficiency. The candidate is also expected to (i) participate in standards working groups such as 3GPP RAN, (ii) work across internal business units to realize the research ideas in future products, and (iii) publish research results and engage in the academic community. Strong wireless communications research background and simulation experience are required.

          The ability to learn/augment new skills quickly as needed, to work closely with multidisciplinary teams across different organizations, and to communicate effectively using oral and written means are thus invaluable to successful performance in this role.
          Qualifications:
          Minimum skills and experience:

          Academic qualifications: Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
          -Candidate must have 1 years work or educational experience in the following area:

          -A key part of the job includes the ability to perform system modeling and simulations for performance analysis of various MAC/PHY techniques over 3GPP/LTE cellular network using OPNET, MATLAB, C/C , ns, etc.
          -Ability to perform fundamental research on next generation mobile wireless technologies
          -Ability to publish and write contributions for standards organizations
